What we keep when you apply for the whitelist, why we keep it, and how to have it deleted. Plain words, no small print.
What we keep
- From X, when you sign in: your X id, handle, name, picture, bio, follower, following and post counts, when the account was made, and whether it is verified or protected. We can never post, like or follow for you.
- Accounts the team adds itself: the team can put a few accounts, such as official and team accounts, on the whitelist by their X handle, without an application. For those we read the same public profile from X (id, handle, name, picture, bio, counts, when the account was made), and nothing else.
- Your answers to the questions, and where your four tasks stand.
- A short code made from your network address, so we can spot many applications coming from one place. The address itself is not stored.
- Times: when you signed in, when you sealed, when the team decided.
- Nominations: if you nominate someone or are nominated, the handles involved.
- No wallet. Applying asks for none. A few days before the mint, approved accounts link the wallet they'll mint from, on a page of its own; this page will say what that adds before it opens.
Why
- To read your application by hand and build the whitelist for the free mint.
- To keep bots and duplicate accounts out.
- To show who is on the whitelist on the checker, and your own status there when you sign in.
- Nothing else. No ads, no selling, no sharing for anyone else's marketing.
Who sees it
- The Fungo Labs team, in a private panel.
- The services that run the site: our hosting provider; Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site and sees your IP address and requests, and checks that a person, not a script, is signing in before you connect X (Cloudflare Turnstile: it looks at signals from your browser and shows a box only when it needs a click); and X, for the sign-in and the X pictures shown on the site (your browser loads them from X).
- Everyone, on the checker: once the team announces the whitelist, the checker lists every account on it: its X handle, its X profile picture, whether it still has a spot of its own to pass on and, for a spot someone passed on, the handle of whoever passed it. Anyone can search the list. Accounts that aren't on the whitelist aren't listed, and the checker tells nobody else whether you applied or where your application stands: your status and your card for X show only to you, when you sign in. If someone passed you a spot you haven't claimed yet, a search for your handle shows that a spot is waiting, never who passed it. The handle and the picture are the ones from your last sign-in with X: if you change either on X, the checker catches up after you connect X again. Visitors' browsers load the picture from X's image servers, so X sees their IP address. Nothing else: not your answers or anything you wrote.
- Everyone, if you share your card: its link shows your handle, your X picture and where your application stands to anyone who opens it.
How long
- Until the whitelist mint is over. We delete applications within 90 days after it.
- Backups are deleted after 14 days.
- Once wallets are linked for the mint, what goes into the whitelist's public proof file or on-chain stays there: that is how a blockchain works.
Your choices
- Want your application deleted, or a copy of what we keep? Send a DM to @fungolabs from the X account you applied with. We do it within 30 days and tell you when it's done. A deleted application leaves the review and the checker.
- We never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does isn't us.
Cookies
- Only what the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie that lasts 30 days, and one that lasts ten minutes while you connect X.
- If you sign in on the checker, your browser keeps your X handle in its own storage, so the checker opens signed in next time. It never leaves your browser, and signing out clears it.
- No analytics, no ads, no trackers.
Changes
If this page changes, so does its date. Big changes are announced on X first.
